Mixed Use Scheme, Middlehaven, Middlesbrough

Brief 

To progress initial feasibility design of dockside mixed use development consisting of bars,restaurants shops, offices and residential apartments.  DKS were appointed by Principal contractor Laing O Rourke to value engineer design in conjunction with NG Bailey & WYG engineers to produce most cost effective design solution for competitive tender submission.


Solution

DKS redesigned entire scheme to resolve conflicts with Building and Fire Regulations and satisfy revised developer brief to ensure scheme could commence on site four weeks after appointment.  As part of the winning submission DKS designed and presented 2 & 3D visualisations of proposals including the design of innovative loft style penthouse apartments on the top two floors.
