Brief

To design a flexible open-plan office building for our own occupation which satisfies our working requirements in a relaxing and comfortable studio environment and conveys an appropriate image to our clients

Solution 

The 7500sq.ft. two storey building is divided into three distinct vertical zones providing for work studio, meeting / social and utility areas. Double height spaces and casual seating areas have been incorporated on both levels to encourage informal interaction between people and between zones. The orientation of the building maximises views over the surrounding Hambleton Hills and countryside. Materials, both internally and externally have been carefully selected to create a range of textures, colours and finishes. The building has been designed to allow for 20% expansion without compromising either the layout or design philosophy.
