Profile
The Practice is led by four
partners Martin Desmond, David Knudsen, Mark Barlow and Steve
Hesmondhalgh. Between us we have a broad
range of architectural and town planning and interior design experience which
takes in: Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, Historic, Religious,
Leisure, Industrial, Retail and Sport. A Partner is always directly
involved or associated with every project to ensure that client contact is
maintained throughout the duration of the project.
The Practice is equipped to
provide the complete range of architectural services from initial feasibility
studies through to completion and handover and is fully experienced in acting
as Lead Consultant in design team situations.
The team of chartered town
planners, led by partner Steve Hesmondhalgh works closely with the
architectural team, combining the expertise of each discipline to create a
fully integrated Practice.
This complete ‘one-stop-shop’
service ensures our clients receive the best possible development advice from
start to finish and enables us to be particularly effective in situations which
require a fully integrated planning and architectural solution.
By combining the planning and
architectural disciplines in this way, we can provide a range of creative development
solutions to achieve maximum site development potential for our clients.
To complement our architectural
and planning work we can also offer the advantage of our in-house Interior
Design team and CDM Co-ordinator services.
The Practice is committed to using the most effective computer-aided design technology with extensive facilities for both 2D and 3D design drawings multi-media productions. This is supported by our in-house state of the art reprographics equipment to ensure consistent and reliable information output.
DKS are committed to ensuring that our work represents the most effective solution to our clients needs. This includes a responsibility to minimise the impact that our operations and buildings have on the environment.
We regularly review and update our Environmental Policy to reflect our continuing experience and knowledge gained from our work on such projects as Middlehaven - the UK's largest sustainable development by Bioregional Quintain.
A copy of our Environmental Policy is available on request, and will shortly be updated and accessible on this website.
