Mark Barlow partner at DKS Architects unique design, for a cluster of linked cube shaped buildings, was chosen by leading national developer BioRegional Quintain. To ensure the marketing suite was completed and operational ahead of the rest of the development the design team, DKS, Readman Associates and WYG followed a fast-track programme to ensure marketing could commence January 2008.

By utilising modern methods of construction the principal contractor Hall Construction Services worked with WA Browne to construct bespoke pre fabricated modules locally off site before delivering and erecting them on site.

Pre fabrication enabled the most cost effective building solution to be created in a controlled environment whilst also ensuring the building can be dismantled and reused on another site as well as being easy to recycle at the end of its useable life.

The building will be used to introduce the ten sustainable principles of One Planet Living that Bio-Regional Quintain promote on all their developments and specific care was taken in sourcing as many sustainably sourced materials as possible to minimise the buildings carbon footprint.
